I’m not sure what’s Register.com’s angle. .Com domains start at $35… much more than all of its competitors except maybe Network Solutions. They were one of the first domain registrars so I understand that they have old business… but I’m just not sure why new customers would come to them. Perhaps it looks more professional to have Register.com as your registrar over GoDaddy.com ? Not really sure…
I have registered 3 domains with Register.com over the course of 5 months, they are. NextGenTutorials.com , MultiplayerNoobs.com , and ClanScorpia.com . Although i registred the domain names thorugh a friends reseller. I have to say that i like how easy it is to manage your nameservers.
Register.com has been here for a LONG time. They have the most highest/expensive prices out there for registering domains.
However, they’re support is incomparable. They will have answers and help you within minutes, which is why the price is so high. They provide great service and it’s like the saying “you get what you pay for”, with Register.com you definitely do!
I want to make personal website.
I can get much more domains at other registrars for the same amount i spent here. I don’t recommend domain investors to have this one as your registrar except you are an active one who often needs quick responses from the support. Terrible prices.
There prices are higher than other registrars but if it is quality you want go to Register.com and there design programs are very easy to manuever around in and update.
Customer service is just a simple phone call away and i never have to wait to speak to a representative.
YES, they are expensive. But in the business world you must sometimes look at more than only pricing. These guys have the best service department I have encountered in my many years of business, and more than makes up for the high price. I would not reccomend them for domain investment or personal blogging domains, but for a corporation I would recommend them before anyone else.
When it comes down to it, the most important thing to look at when picking a registrar is just cost. Features and support are also important, but charging almost 4 times what your competition charges is just the thing that’s going to turn me away. Good for them that they can get away with charging such high prices, but I will not be a customer of theirs.
This is one of the highest priced registrars out there. Although the support team does a great job The price is just not worth it. The features are also not comparable.
Okay, the prices are outrageous. Simply outrageous. However their support is unparalleled. The problem I have with that is the fact that after all these years I have yet to have to call up tech support with other registrars anyways, like GoDaddy for instance. So.. I really don’t see much point in having such great support for myself. However I would imagine this to be invaluable to businesses where hiring a guy to manage would be the alternative. In that case, this would be superb value.
Register.com proposes all kinds of hosting packages and ecommerce solutions, from basic hosting to business email to SEO services. However, however their basic or Essential package include much less than their competitors, especially when it came to storage and email accounts. Also their services cost a bit more, which over a year or three year term adds up. In general, Register.com is decent enough, but just isn’t compelling enough to really compare with some other providers in this business.
Register.com has an excellent support, but not great prices. They really have high registration fee for domain names which makes people turn away from them. If they manage to have competitive prices, then I believe they will be one of the leading domain name registrars.
